Win2003 Server 伺服器重啟故障的解決 I have seen this error on a few servers in total separate environments. It seems to cause a CPU spike when it is in transition. Though what I read is to just disable the service, my group thought to find the cause rather then the Band-Aid approach. Our brilliant leader pointed us in the direction of the NIC card. One thing we are seeing in common on all machines are that they have more then once NIC card. The other NICS are disabled but TCP/IP is set to DHCP. We have left the cards disabled but set dummy static IP address on the cards. So far so good. The thought here was that the Winhttp service had a dependency on DHCP client. Since a server shouldn’t be set to DHCP, then why is the client service running? That brought us to the NIC. Win2003 WinHTTP Web Proxy Auto-Discovery Service導致的伺服器重啟故障的解決 The WinHTTP Web Proxy Auto-Discovery Service has been idle for 15 minutes, it will be shut down。 今天下午伺服器突然無故重啟，查找日誌發現這條記錄： The WinHTTP Web Proxy Auto-Discovery Service has been idle for 15 minutes, it will be shut down. 在goolge和baidu搜索發現很多朋友都有遇到該問題，但是都沒有很好的解決該問題。後來只有到google英文搜索，很快就找到一篇文章。大意是因為伺服器有多網卡，其中有網卡被禁用，而且使用了DHCP，所以導致問題發生。和我的情況完全相同，所以我把禁用的網卡又啟用了，而且給配了一個不存在的ip地址。還不敢肯定是不是已經完全解決問題，具體原理也還沒搞清楚。有類似情況發生的朋友，請留言說一下自己的實際情況。大家齊心協力把這個問題解決掉。
